FKM rubber sheet is a type of high-performance synthetic rubber made from fluoroelastomers, with Viton® being one of the most well-known brand names for FKM. It's prized for its exceptional resistance to heat, chemicals, and oil, which makes it ideal for demanding industrial applications.

Key Features of FKM Rubber Sheet:

- Excellent heat resistance (up to 250°C or 482°F)
- Superb chemical resistance, especially to fuels, oils, acids, and solvents
- Low permeability to gases
- Good weather and ozone resistance
- Strong mechanical properties (especially at elevated temperatures)

Common Applications:

- Gaskets and seals in automotive, aerospace, and chemical processing industries
- Linings for tanks and pipes exposed to aggressive chemicals
- High-performance O-rings and diaphragms
- Environments where other rubber materials (like NBR or EPDM) would degrade

Limitations:

- Higher cost compared to other rubber types
- Poor low-temperature flexibility (typically becomes brittle below -20°C)

ENVIRONMENTAL RESISTANCE

FKM rubber is one of the most environmentally resistant elastomers available, particularly suited for high-temperature, chemical, and weather-resistant applications. However, it is not ideal for cold environments, steam, or strong alkaline chemicals.
