The silicone sponge sections we offer here at TYM are lightweight, flexible sealing profiles manufactured from a closed-cell silicone sponge material designed for effective compression sealing in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
Unlike solid silicone extrusions, sponge sections are engineered with a cellular structure that allows them to compress easily under low load while maintaining excellent recovery once pressure is released. This makes them particularly well suited for sealing uneven or irregular surfaces where a consistent seal would otherwise be difficult to achieve.
They also offer strong resistance to UV, moisture, and general weathering, ensuring long-term performance in both indoor and outdoor environments.
A key advantage of silicone sponge sections is their ability to perform reliably across a wide temperature range, typically from around -60°C to +200°C, without losing flexibility or sealing integrity. Their compressible nature also makes them highly effective for vibration damping, thermal insulation, and cushioning applications, in addition to their primary sealing function.
Common profile shapes such as D sections, P sections, and rectangular profiles are widely used in enclosures, doors, access panels, HVAC systems, and electrical housings where environmental protection is required alongside ease of installation.
