Armaflex Nitrile Sponge Sheeting
Insulating pipe and ductwork is one of the most effective ways to protect the value of an investment. Aside from restricting energy losses, insulation also prevents condensation and the associated risks of pipe corrosion and mould growth. Armaflex us an ideal sponge rubber sheeting for insulating applications.
What is Armaflex?
Armaflex is a type of Nitrile rubber made by Armacell, their range of thermal insulation materials are specifically designed to meet the challenges posed by modern mechanical services.
Class O Armaflex is the flexible, closed cell, elastomeric, nitrile rubber insulation that offers reliable protection against condensation and effectively prevents energy loss.
Class O Armaflex is dust free, fibre free and CFC free with an ODP of zero. Its inherent attributes and combination of properties makes Armaflex a highly efficient method of insulating hot and cold water services, chilled water lines, heating systems, air conditioning ductwork and refrigerated pipework for condensation control, energy conservation and frost protection.
Why choose Class O Armaflex?
Specifying Class O Armaflex for your application brings a number of competitive advantages.
- Built-in anti-microbial protection reduces mould and bacteria growth.
- Built in vapour barrier prevents condensation.
- Reduces energy losses by up to 87%.
- Lightweight and flexible, quick and easy installation with low maintenance requirements, resulting in time and cost savings
- Excellent resistance to the effects of ozone, oil and chemicals.
Armaflex is a flexible closed cell elastomeric sheet with a Class O fire rating and energy saving thermal performance. Being a closed cell material, Armaflex requires no external vapour barrier and will not absorb moisture by wicking.
Can Armaflex be used for Soundproofing?
Armaflex has the unique capability of providing significant sound absorption while remaining completely closed cell. Aerodynamic and fan noise within the ducting can be reduced when Armaflex is used as an internal lining. Due to its excellent thermal values, Armaflex also performs as a thermal insulator which negates the need for additional thermal insulation on the exterior of the ductwork.
When Armaflex is used as an external acoustic lining, noise break-out from the duct wall can be significantly reduced. Further improvements can be achieved when Armaflex is used in combination with ArmaSound RD and Arma-Chek R.
Antimicrobial applications
Class O Armaflex now also comes with Microban anti-microbial protection built-in, offering enhanced resistance against bacteria and mould growth. This makes Class O Armaflex suitable for use in offices, schools and hospitals.
Armaflex is dust, fibre and formaldehyde free, and inhibits the onset of sick building syndrome.
We stock Armaflex sheeting in 5 different thicknesses 10mm, 13mm, 19mm, 25mm and 32mm with a scrim backing
